FSA and Kony 2012

Posted On Tuesday, March 6th, 2012 By t3po7re5

The world is at a standstill again but this time over Syria. Except this time it’s a bit more complicated than Libya. Some people back Syria’s president for life Assad because they fear of the reprisals that the FSA will bring when they reach Damascus. Assads Syria surprisingly supported freedom of religion which protected non Sunni Muslims in Syria so religious minorities tend to back Assad for fear of a Saudi like state that could replace him. The FSA needs to recognize this and need to also push out extremist groups like Al-Queda from assisting in the revolution in order to gain more Western support and to isolate Russia into agreeing in some sort of resolution. Keep in mind Russia makes $1 Billion from arms sale to Syria so it’s kind of obvious that they will always back the Assad regime and only will have a chance of backing down if are completely isolated. Also on the note of armed oppressors the Invisible Children campaign about stopping Joseph Kony is in full swing again trying to lobby Congress to keep the US military advisers in Uganda to try and capture Kony. The Invisible Children campaign is the start of using Continue Reading

Viva Democracy!

Posted On Sunday, November 27th, 2011 By t3po7re5

Long time no post and tons of events have occurred. Egypt is fighting tooth and nail for their freedom from the military and they’re actually succeeding! Libya has overthrown Gaddafi and the Arab league is pressuring Assad to step down from power. These are grave times for dictators now that the people are actually able to realize what their leaders are doing. The internet is giving the people these capabilities and the leaders know it. They attempt to lock down the internet however without the internet they set back their country economically and technologically which is a loose loose for them. More updates coming from the site soon and hopefully new videos within the next month. Also on the tech side of things Anonymous is taking on the Zetas cartel, a very risky venture. Anonymous is warning all inexperienced hackers to avoid this conflict due to the dangerous nature of the Zetas and the known fact that they tend to go after bloggers.

Casey Anthony who?

Posted On Wednesday, July 6th, 2011 By t3po7re5

So recently the media has turned a murder case into the largest story of the week. Casey Anthony was accused of killing her toddler who was accused of killing her daughter was probably the most discussed thing for the past week. While this is an awful scenario might I remind you of the conflict in Syria where Assad has killed over 1000, arrested(probably tortured) over 10,000 people including women and children. The last time I saw Syria mentioned on TV was on CNN show hosted by Anderson Cooper and that was over a week ago. This just shows that drama is more important to the media then news itself.

Another perspective on the Pakistan situation

There’s always multiple perspectives on situations even if it seems very one sided as most viewpoints come from western media. The Plaid Avenger who is a geography teacher at VT interviewed a student from Pakistan and he offers a perspective that most people in the West struggle to view. You can watch that here (or go to plaidavenger.com).  Also Lulzsec calls it quits after their “rampage” and getting owned by another hacker group called “the A-Team” posts detailed information about accused members. Anonymous is still continuing their campaign targeting Arizona for their new immigration policies.

The “Soft” War/ FBI goes after Lulz Sec

Check out this video hosted on CBS site(no intention to promote CBS) http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504943_162-20073030-10391715.html It highlights probably one of the largest conflicts in todays world, the fight for internet freedom. During the Arab uprisings the first thing the dictator would do was to the state’s access to the internet. The US government responded to this by creating a piece of hardware that would allow users in a country to still access a unrestricted internet without the states permission. To me this sounds like one of the first steps to progress and to be honest I’m kind of surprised the US is doing this. In other  news the FBI was reported going into a data center and walking out with a few server stacks. They knocked out a few innocent sites in the process but according to Tomshardware they were going after lulz Security. The owners of these sites arn’t exactly pleased and some people are already speculating they might take the matter to court.

The Internet goes to war!

Ok so this is technically the first blog entry and hopefully I’ll make an article on my new site about it. So many of you probably have heard of the recent hacking of sites like Sony, Bethesda, Eve, 4Chan, and oh wait, the CIA, FBI, and the US Senate. Now the group that claims responsibility for this is called lulz security. Lulz security is most likely a splinter group from Anonymous which is usually based on 4chan. Now that lulz security took down 4chan people are starting to have their doubts. Anonymous originally thought it was a guy in Maine who runs a PHP website which takes images of downed websites but he claims to have no involvement with lulz. Some people are starting to speculate that lulz is actually European by the way they communicate which wouldn’t be too surprising. Eastern Europe is known to have some of the best hackers in the world and is also the main base for many of the worlds largest botnets.  Chances are that the group is spread across the world just like Anonymous but who knows for sure. Right now just about everyone is trying to track them down and for the Continue Reading
